The Buddy Red Bow Story - $ 14.95 plus S&H
Listen to a Sample of the Hour Long Documentary
Buddy Red Bow was
one of the first and greatest of native contemporary musicians.
He was a personal friend of Milt's--in fact, Milt was the first
person to record Buddy and put "Indian Love Song" on a
little 45" record.
This special Oyate "deal" is an hour-long documentary
produced on Buddy's life and music for KILI FM Radio on the one-hour
anniversary of Buddy's death.
I (Jamie) remember writing this program and worrying all along
that the script was too thin, that it wasn't working. Milt kept
saying to me "Just wait--there is the music--a lot of music."
Finally, I handed him the script, he produced the show, did the
final mix, and handed me back a cassette copy and said, "Now
listen". He left the house and I popped the tape in and listened.
An hour later, when the program ended, Milt came back in and I was
sitting on the couch crying like a baby. "It's so beautiful,"
I sobbed.
Buddy Red Bow was made up of all heart. A bigger than life guy
whose music reflects this. We miss you, Buddy!
